Ribbon commands

In this User Guide, ribbon commands are denoted by a chain of angle-bracket-separated words or phrases. The chain is preceded by the phrase “<name> ribbon command”. For example, we would refer to the Add-ins tool of the Add-ins group of the Developer tab of the Excel ribbon as “Excel ribbon command ”. If the ribbon command opens a dialog, then in this guide, we append an ellipsis (…) to the command descriptor, even though it might not appear in the ribbon.

Pathnames of files

The pathname of a file is the full chain of slash-separated folder names, terminating with the name of the file. If your home folder lies in that chain, we sometimes abbreviate the first part of the chain, down through your home folder, as tilde (“~”). Thus, ~/Library/Application Support/MDUF/ is a folder MDUF uses for storing certain important items it uses.

MDUF>About MDUF…	Displays the “About MDUF” mDialogBox.
MDUF>This Control>Enter Formula…	Invoke the mDialogBox titled “Formula Maker” to construct a relative position formula for a control.
MDUF>This Control>Insert>Pages…	Inserts Pages into the MultiPage whose record contains the active cell.
MDUF>This Control>Prefix Name…	Applies a prefix you specified to all cells in the selection that contain text.
MDUF>This Control>Properties>Edit…	Open the Properties Editor for the selected control.
MDUF>This Control>Register	Registers the selected control to enable its use for relative positioning.
MDUF>This Control>Rename…	When the active cell lies in a record of a control that is not a Page of a MultiPage, this command displays the mDialogBox titled “Rename Control” which enables you to rename the selected control. This is the recommended method for renaming controls, because it handles registration details for you.
MDUF>This Control>Rename…	When the active cell lies in a record of a control that is a Page of a MultiPage, this command displays the mDialogBox titled “Rename Page” which enables you to rename the selected Page. This is the recommended method for renaming Pages, because it handles registration details and Page references for you.
MDUF>This Control>Wrap Text…	Wrap the text contained in the cells of the selection with a prefix and suffix that you specify.
MDUF>This FormSpec>Delete>Selected Controls	Delete the control records you’ve selected.
MDUF>This FormSpec>Delete>Target UserForms…	Deletes all MDUF-generated UserForms from those target workbooks you specify.
MDUF>This FormSpec>Insert>Multiple Controls	Inserts a number of control records that you specify into the control record block you selected.

MDUF>This Project>Repair Errors	A useful tool for repairing some kinds of #NAME? errors.
MDUF>This Workbook>Reload	Reloads the active workbook. Use this to go back to whatever you saved most recently.
View>MDUF>Type and Name	Freezes the active window such that the control name column and control type column are always visible. The active worksheet must be an MDUF FormSpec worksheet.
View>MDUF>Freeze Standard	Freezes the active window in the standard configuration with all portions of the FormSpec worksheet visible. The active worksheet must be an MDUF FormSpec worksheet.
View>MDUF>Unfreeze	Unfreezes the active window, with a single pane. The active sheet must be an MDUF FormSpec worksheet.
View>MDUF>Hide>This FormSpec’s Empty Record Blocks	Hides all empty record blocks. The active sheet must be an MDUF FormSpec worksheet.
View>MDUF>Hide>This Project’s Empty Record Blocks	Hides all empty record blocks in the FormSpec worksheets of the active workbook, which must be a Project workbook.
View>MDUF>Hide>Selected…	Displays an mDialogBox that lets you specify which control types you want to hide. MDUF then hides the record blocks of those control types on the active sheet, which must be a FormSpec worksheet.
View>MDUF>Unhide>All in This Project	Unhides, for each control type, all record blocks on all FormSpec worksheets in the active workbook, which must be a Project workbook.
